Saturday Family Fun at Lockwood Park
If your family needs a fun weekend activity, Lockwood Park Equestrian Centre and Children’s Farm has got you covered! Every Saturday from now until October 26th, families can enjoy pony rides, a corn maze, pumpkin picking and other outdoor activities. Kids will love Lockwood Park’s friendly animals and large playground area.

Autumn at the Arboretum
On Sunday, October 13th, visit the Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden for its most popular family event of the year! Autumn at the Arboretum is FREE to the public and includes scarecrow building, wagon rides, pumpkin painting, live entertainment and more. Fall-themed food will also be available for purchase. Your family won’t want to miss this annual Rockford celebration!

For Young Professionals…

Fall Arts Scene
Experience Rockford’s skilled art community at the annual Fall Arts Scene, taking place in various locations around downtown Rockford October 4th and 5th. This free event is a wonderful opportunity to explore the city, meet new people, and purchase original art from talented local artists. After the event, stop by the Octane or the Social Urban Bar for artfully prepared food, unique drinks, and great atmosphere.

For Outdoor Lovers…

Anderson Japanese Gardens
Looking for some beautiful fall views? Visit the Anderson Japanese Gardens! You can take a docent-led tour and gain exclusive access to the Garden Guest House and the Laurent House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, or just take a stroll through the gardens and enjoy the changing leaves. However, you spend your visit, you’ll be amazed by Anderson’s gorgeous sights.

Rock River Recreation Path
Get active and enjoy the fall season by biking along the Rock River Recreation Path. This ten-mile paved trail begins in Davis Park (right outside Embassy Suites Rockford Riverfront) and continues through some of Rockford’s most beautiful outdoor landmarks, including Sinnissippi Gardens, Martin Parks, and the Frank Baur Bridge.

For Everyone…

Edwards Apple Orchard West
Grab your family, friends, or coworkers and visit the Rockford favorite, Edwards Apple Orchard West! You can pick your own pumpkins and/or apples, and then head inside to enjoy Edwards’ famous apple cider donuts. In addition, on weather-permitting weekends, Edwards offers tractor rides around the orchard. Fall in Rockford is not complete without a visit to Edwards Apple Orchard West!
